DOLORES REVISTED

DOLORES REVISITED

COZY COMFORT our Colorado getaway

After a long cold winter in Dolores with a ton of snow it's time for our annual pilgramage up North
to inspect the property and do the planting of window boxes and the pool area. It also has the
added bonus of a 2 Day Rocky Mountain Trial over at Bull Hollow, a mere 50 miles away. Brenda
will be staying at Cozy Comfort to look after her kennel while I'm out riding.

Other events seem to be taking over in our lives and things are no longer going to plan in any
direction. The frustrations of trying to run, what was, a successsful company are now getting to a
point when the doors will slam firmly shut. Other avenues must be persued in rapid time frame. All
my plans of riding this weekend are looking borderline but could still happen if the ducks line up.

Common sense says wait a week but of course that means missing a 2 day event which I very
much enjoy. The alternative is a very late departure on Friday and then stay over Monday through
Wednesday next week which would work.

Other plans slipping onto a back burner are the Beehive Beemers Red Rock Rendez-Vous at
Panguitch in Utah which we missed last year due to no trailer and this year we are swamped with
puppies!

Well yet more complications with Richard from Telluride coming down on Saturday morning to pick
up 7, yes 7 bikes from the collection. He has made me an offer I just can't turn down in these times
of financial nightmares so 7 bikes must go!

I can hardly bear to watch

Richard arrived early morning and I'm still checking carbs and refueling just in case he wants to
test them. He is well prepared with a large flat bed truck, several wooden beams, 2 electric drills
and a bag of bolts, screws, eyelets and a selection of tie downs.

The Ossa, TY175 and Cagiva complete the 7

The bikes are duly loaded and the "museum" is looking a little bare as one after another they roll
out and join their brothers and sisters on the truck and begin their run up to Placerville where
Richard has them all stored as a future investment.

They were fun to build, but you can't ride them all so at least they will stay in their pristine
condition in Richard's capable hands.

Another week slips by and still we are not ready to head north. The house must be prepped for
sale so much to do in that area, and of course gardens and workshop need to look A1. Finally we
leave on Friday at 1400 and now its with the bus and Beemer with the plan to stay through until
Thursday, travel across to Utah and take in the Red Rock Rendez-vous as our bit of relaxation
after all the hard work and trying times.

Will it make the asking Price ????

We arrive in Dolores 2 weeks later than planned, we missed the 2 day at Bull Hollow and of
course AHRMA has run another 3 events which I still haven't seen the results from. By all accounts
from, my good friend Ed Peacock, all 5 events had a poor turnout which is a shame especially as Ed
and Evelyn put so much effort into ensuring this years events are first class and wanting for
nothing. One can only imagine that in these hard times people are thinking twice with the cost of
fuel and the long distances involved.

On a more cheery note Fred Martinson has used a picture of some "old sage" on this years
Casper T shirt, this must be a first for yours truly so try and make the Casper 3 Day event.

At least you get 3 trials for your fuel money and the trials there are always fantastic with a great
variety of terrain and section types.

Famous at last !

Brenda is working on www.trialsphoto.com and says she will have all this years photos up soon.
