THINGS TO DO IN COLORADO
THINGS TO DO IN COLORADO
It's our park and I'll park it where I want!
After 7 hours of driving we pull into our RV resort of Cozy Comfort. It's 10 at night and rather
than unload into our getaway home the easy option is to have a beer and spend night one in the
RV.
Ah! there you are
Saturday morning and time to get organized and move what we need inside. The plan at this
stage is to use the Beemer as the runabout and get all the "ducks lined up" and then depart on
Thursday cross country to Panguitch Utah for the Beehive Beemers Rally.
Wayne, our manager, offers the use of his pickup and after some breakfast Brenda builds a
couple of new rocking chairs for the balcony and also puts up some anti-dog fencing along the
balcony to stop wayward pups from taking "a giant leap of faith" Friends decide we need to join
them for the afternoon so plans of hanging baskets are abandonned until Sunday, and the
Beemer is dragged out for a quick local ride.
The new Blue Rockers
Sunday and it's off to the nursery for the hanging b's. They seem more expensive than last year
and not quite as nice. Anyhooo 4 are purchased with a couple of flats of Petunias for the window
boxes. Some essentials in Cortez then back for a load of parcel wrapping to keep the new
business up and running.
My Floral Sombrerro
Monday and time to rebuild the pool which had cracked during the winter and the last batch of
surviving Goldfish had had to be rescued and are now living elsewhere. Some major gluing of the
liner and then fill it and start redecorating all the edges. Mid afternoon and all is well and now
time to go and get another pump as the old one has also decided to quit. The pool place only has
fish that are diddy and priced to further increase the national debt! All the more annoying in so
much that our one year old fish in Arizona have bred and we now have hundreds of the little ones
swimming happily despite all the pundits claiming it is not possible.
New pool liner in
Tuesday a little more work on the pool and posting junk, then more pool of a different kind with
Jim and Lucille in the Hollywood. I actually felt it coming back! and with Brenda just pointing at my
finger we won most of our games. The evening continued with time in the bus until insensible!
POOL of a different kind
Wednesday and Brenda announces that why don't we stay in Dolores and forgo Utah as the
weather and riding are delightful here. Sounds like a plan to me so, now it's time to see what
Durango has in the world of fish. 12 Kamis are purchased and endure the 80 mph ride home through
the sweepers from Mancos to home.... what a great road! Fish are dumped after temp adjustments
are made and the cottonwood fluff is extracted from the new pump filter.
Go get the fish..... the road to Durango
The ORE HOUSE, a once great restaurant until they banned smoking!
LIVE FISH in transit .......80?
Thursday and today will be another "Pool" day with the cue in hand but first some running around
in Cortez to see a new shed which may become my workshop as any lockup or rental in Dolores
doesn't seem practical. Find exactly what I want and while inside we get invited to a "Customer
Appreciation" bar-b-q, so a free lunch to boot!
A NEW Workshop ?
20 X 16 should work
The Pool goes well and then Jim and Lucille bring a crock pot over to the coach and yet more
drinking rounds off another pleasant day.
Friday take the Beemer into Cortez but can't find anything we want and eventually give up with
a miserable little water plant...... we will take some of ours and some fish next time. A quick stop
at the Hollywood and back to the non stop activities of the sled team of NINE dogs!
Saturday is Beemer Day and that will have it's own story and then fond farewells until next time
when we may be back for good.
At rest
Tony & Brenda and the 9 Team.
