CUB DONE


 Despite the crap conditions the work continued. The Cub bashplate was refiled and smoothed where
the concrete or rebar had stopped me in my tracks. The stripped engine bolt was replaced and the
others tightened. The gearbox oil, what little there was, dripped into the pan and the clutch was drained
and refilled.

 The weather has certainly not helped this week with some good encouraging thawing but then
another unexpected burst of snow to remind me that its not quite over yet! There was a rush on as I'd
rather hoped to be trailing this coming weekend over in Oklahoma at the new venue that Ed and Evelyn
have secured at Terlton Ranch. Sadly, finances being what they are that has been put on a back burner
until next year as I can't afford it and Brenda is less than keen.

 I believe the Safari would have made it on time as RV Guru, Howard, has found a suitable bearing for
the Onan generator at a 1/4 of the price Onan wanted. The windshields have been replaced so I might
be able to see where I'm going next time we do take to the road.

 Back in the shop the work on the Cub went ahead, she went on the gearbox intraveinous drip and the
200cc's of soothing fluid were replaced through the surgical appliance. Amazing the number of things
that have to be built of designed to get oil in holes where an ordinary funnel just won't go.

 Some lubricant for the chain to get rid of the Arizona egg timer sand and some spiffing up from the
last of the Solvol Autosol. More tubes on order!!!

 As the machine itself is as close to perfection as I can get  it there is very little else to be done.
Anything I do to her now is only icing on the cake as the machine wants for nothing. In terms of
desirability then maybe a flat alloy bash plate would be the way to go and perhaps the long awaited
Stealth tank from Ray Iddon would be pretty, and just maybe remove the SM side plates and fit a full
width mud preventer for the back wheel ?
