NEW ZEST

As the lemon is cut a new zest bursts free as we stumble into the New Year. The playoffs begin and the
decorations come down once more. One day of skiing in the books on what can only be described as the
truly perfect day. Zero wind, relatively warm, clear skies and good snow.

Perfect day ! and the first test of the new Spyder suit

Test runs on the new equipment were not exhaustive but the boots were much easier to get on and off and
considerably lighter than the last ones. The new skis carved well, had no sudden surprises, and would turn
purely on will power rather than technique….. yes technology has come a long, long way.

New Bogner jacket with the purple Descente pants

E bay has had its “highs and lows” ….. can’t seem to buy ski pants that fit!  Me’thinks they are now making
them to appease the snowboarder and are so loosely cut that not only do they look awful but they are too
long and horribly baggy. Two pairs of the ones I did buy had to be relisted and have now passed on.

Do we really need to look like this ???

Now this is F…….. ridiculous!!!  might fit a Smurf

No, I’m afraid I can’t wear any of that crap, so the search continues. However, on the plus side jackets are
superb, and I’ve swopped out 3 of mine for others and have been well pleased with the results so far. The
mysteries of ebay continue and three sets of “top of the line” gloves I put on failed to even get a bid, relisted
the same and all 3 are selling this morning!

Well, time now to get cracking on our MWVTA 2014 schedule and see what and where we are going, and
who is playing Trialsmaster. From the rough format it looks like San Ysidro in April and Dolores again In
August. We want to do Turkey Rock, Sipapu, Casper, Roswell and Corral Bluffs so now is the time for
people to step up and volunteer.

Having rebuilt the Superglitz Yam and done the clutch mod she is ready to go and “No Excuses” was done
last year but never got a ride as I was having fun on the Yam. What to ride this year ? With the weather as
it is and precious little snow (for us) on the ground I just might be persuaded to get them out and at least
have a trundle round and see what I can remember.
