THOUGHTS FOR 2008?

THOUGHTS FOR 2008?

THOUGHTS FOR 2008 ?

2007 was a good year with experiments like Ossamaha, The Tiger Cub and the Royal Enfield,
so what can I do in 2008?

A Joy to Ride The “OSSAMAHA”

The Cub all ready for 2008

The Newbie… the Don Morley 350 Bullet

Now with the new Spartan tank

Oooh that’s Slim

It had better ride as Good as it looks

YOU are in for a BIG year!

A list of ideas is forming as I ponder the direction of the next dose of insanity. The first project
could be to design a combination bike using all the best components from all the bikes of the 70’s
and see how it performs. Ideas so far are wide pattern front forks by betor as Ossa, but a better
wheel and front brake? A 77 Yamaha engine maybe overbored to 290 ? and a stable frame
almost like a 72 Bultaco.

Second idea is to get hold of an early 175 or 250 KTM engine and adapt it for trials. Then find a
suitable frame that can be adapted to carry it, perhaps a 175 Yam and put my own ideas into
that. Must try and get the weight down to around 165-170.

Plenty of frames

Something for ITSA ? How about a 86 Yamaha 350 with the rear end modified to twinshock or
an early Honda RTL or TLM with twinshocks?

A dusty 280 SWM

Other projects that I have to get going on are the two SWM’s that have been sitting around,
a 280 and a Jumbo.

The Jumbo that has sat for a full year!

Then there is the pile of bits that one day will be another 242 Montesa.

One day a Monty 242

More of the 242

How do you bend those fins?

2 X TY250A’s to build, anybody interested? Maybe one in British Racing Green and I’m open to
suggestions for the other.

We can make a Ty250A out of that

Another pile of bits which was a TY175 so perhaps another in Black/White or BRG?

Enough for another TY175

When will it ever end?

TONY DOWN   builder of fine Vintage Trials Machines from scrap!
